    Applications are invited for the following purely project-based positions. The candidate with adequate qualification may appear for Walk-In-Interview on 26-05-2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Kosi- Katarmal (Almora) campus of the Institute.     Position 1- Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Centre on Himalayan Ecology of the Institute

    01. Programme Officer (01 No.) @ 30,000/- fixed p.m. 01.
    Age Max 45 Years
    Qualification – 1 st class M.Sc. in Life Sciences along with good computer knowledge and 3 years experience
    Desirable Ph.D or working for Ph.D. and Knowledge of document preparation

    Position 2- In house project-5

    Name of the post- Junior Research Fellow (01 No.)* @Rs. 12,000/- fixed per month +HRA as per Institute norms.
    Age-28 years
    Qualification – Masters degree with 1 st Class in Earth Science/Life Science/ Social Science with good academic record Conduct intensive survey & Demonstration in training in livelihood and other subjects the Himalayan region
    Nature of Duties Initially one year may be extended for further year depending on project requirement. Preference will be given to the candidates with working experience in Himalayan region

    Position 3- MoES funded project

    Name of the post- Junior Research Fellow (01 post) Emoluments Rs. 16,000/- fixed + HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates and Rs. 12000/- +HRA for others as per MoES orders

     Age limit: 28 years*
    Qualification – Ist class Master degree in Physics/Geophysics/ Earth sciences or revelent subject or Ist Class B. Tech. in Civill Engg. Is essential. Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.
    Desirable – Experience of working in difficult mountain conditions in relevant subjects Training of computers particularly in Unix/Linux environment for geodetic/ GPS data processing is desirable.

    Position 4- Central Laboratory of the Institute

    Lab Assistant (1 post) Emoluments (Rs. 8,000/- fixed)
    Age limit: 35 years
    Qualification – Bechlor degree in science with Chemistry/Chemical sciences or relevant subject with minimum 55%marks experience/ training of analytical instruments particularly used for water/soil and plant testing are desirable.
    Desirable –  Experience of working in Himalaya

    Position 5- ICIMOD funded project

    Documentation Assistants (DA)-01 (Emoluments: @8,000/- per month fixed;
    Age: 35 yrs) Pacement: GBPIHED HQS/Field Base (Pithoragarh)
    Major Tasks – Collection, compilation and analysis of information/data from the landscape (Pithoragarh District) Draft report/document preparation Assistance in event organization Essential: Graduate degree preferably in science; At least 6 months computer course. Desirable: Experience of working in hills; information generation/analysis and documentation.

    Position 6- ICIMOD funded project

    Project Assistant (PA)-01 (Emoluments: @8,000/- or 10,000 per month fixed;
    Age: 35 yrs) Pacement: Field Base (Pithoragarh)/New Delhi
    Major Tasks – Assist the Field based researcher while at Base camp (Pithoragarh). Facilitate various project matters in different offices while in Delhi Essential: Intermediate Desirable: Experience of working in metro cities as well as in hills
