Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) will be organizing a unique Management Development Programme (MDP) on ‘Energising the Organisation through Innovative Bottom-Up Communications’ from September 12-14, 2012.The management programme is aimed to address the challenges faced by business organisations. Business leaders realize that bottom-up communication is not taking place in organisations to the required extent. As a result, many existing and potential problems are never spotted till they achieve Himalayan proportions. Without proper degree of upward communication, the implementation of solutions is usually done with a top-down approach resulting in poor management decisions.

The Management programme is designed for middle to senior management executives in the area of marketing, corporate communication, HR and general management, the MDP will equip the participants with innovative communication techniques providing solutions proven to deliver results. Solutions that energise all the people involved in the communication process. Solutions that are full of fun- using creativity in a way they have never done before.

The programme director Dr. Kallol Das, a core faculty member at MICA, has done some research in the area of organizational communication. He has also pioneered the concept of photonovel as a tool for managing bottom-up communication.

As a highly engaging communication medium, the concept of photonovel has also been appreciated and adopted by Prof Lawrence Silver at John Massey School of Business, Southeastern Oklahama State and by Professor Renee Gravois Lee at Sam Houston State University. He has used the idea to introduce management concepts to students at MICA and helped organizations to achieve better internal communication.
