M S University and INFLIBNET, an inter-university centre (IUC) of the University Grants Commission has signed a MoU whereby MSU will become part of the ‘Shodhganga’ project.

The MoU was signed by director of the INFLIBNET Centre Dr Jagdish Arora and MSU’s officer on special duty (registrar) Dr Amit Dholakia in presence of MSU vice-chancellor professor Yogesh Singh.

Through this MoU, MSU has agreed to take part in the process of digitizing its old thesis and dissertations which are not available in computerized machine-readable format and thereby structuring a digital repository of research theses. The INFLIBNET Centre has coined the word – ‘Shodhganga’ – for referring to the storage of all Indian Electronic Thesis and Dissertations (ETD) at the centre. From now onwards, MSU will promote, share and host its ETD in ‘Shodhganga’.

INFLIBNET Centre will provide anti-plagiarism software to MSU to verify and authenticate thesis before awarding respective degrees. A written understanding is made between MSU and the INFLIBNET Centre that the university will grant non-exclusive global license to the INFLIBNET Centre for hosting and distributing their thesis in digital format in ‘Shodhganga’ or any other server.

After signing the MoU, MSU also organized a special workshop for Ph D students of the university which was attended by more than 125 Ph D scholars from various faculties and departments. Officials from INFLIBNET guided the students about the access to various information and academic resources during the Ph D process.
