Network and Security Administrator at MedNautix

Job Description: Experienced Network and Security Administrator for MedNautix.
Responsibilities:
1. Insuring that the network infrastructure is up and running; ensuring system is optimized for business requirements and following best practices.
2. Following IT best practices and company policies related to configuring firewall policies and ensuring the security and availability of the IT system.
3. Responsible for system security including Data encryption decryption, Blocking mass storage.
4. Performing routine audits of systems and software.
5. System performance tuning and optimization.
6. Installing and configuring new hardware and software
7. Performing backups.
8. Troubleshooting any reported problems.
9. Able to address conflicting priorities.
10. Monitor network equipment and troubleshoot equipment and circuit outages.
11. Troubleshoot network performance issues using tools.
12. Maintain network monitoring system, configure appropriate alert thresholds.
13. Monitor VPN usage and help troubleshoot client connection issues.
14. Perform network, SAN, and VMWare patching and upgrades.
15. Assist with new network equipment deployments.
16. Provision SAN space as needed by server team, assist in SAN maintenance and troubleshooting.
17. Assist in resolving major network outages.
18. Monitor antivirus system, Securing company laptops and remote site.
19. Take network-related escalations from support team.
20. Monitor datacenter environmental systems.
21. Possess expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers.
22. Update and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
23. Ability to split time between multiple projects and multitask.
24. Backup Systems Administrator(s) when necessary.
25. Provide Support (Tier III) when necessary.
26. Keep version changes and approvals for firewall/managed switch rules amendments.
27. Experience in Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity techniques a plus.
Requirements:
1. At least 3 years experience administering a corporate network.
2. Thorough understanding of all Windows Server operating systems and enterprise-class networking concepts.
3. Fluent in corporate network security techniques.
4. Expert understanding of enterprise-class computer networking hardware and software.
5. Experience in virtualization and storage area networks preferred.
6. Strong communication skills (friendly, able to follow detailed directions).
7. Must be fluent in English speaking.
8. Detail-oriented
