7,500 professors waiting for Dec salary payment
The state government, which has been bandying about large investment figures following the vibrant summit, is yet to pay salary for the month of December to teachers of 450 grant-in-aid colleges. The delay has put these teachers, 7,500 in all, in a real bind as many of them have loans to repay and insurance payments to make. Some are even struggling to manage household expenses.
Principals of these colleges, who are also waiting for their remuneration, claim this is the longest delay to date. They have urged the higher education department to resolve the issue at the earliest. “Usually, salaries are paid on fifth or sixth of every month. TCS to hire 30,000 personnel next fiscal
With the IT industry firmly on the growth track, Tata Consultancy Services plans to hire 30,000 personnel in the next fiscal. The company would be announcing the increments around April but the quantum was not divulged.
Expect 12% hike this year
New Delhi: Indian companies are expected to give the highest salary hikes of up to 12 per cent in Asian region, driven by rapid economic growth and need for executive talent, a report by global HR consultancy Mercer said.
