Kesar Sal students can pursue MBBS in their college

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has agreed to allow Kesar Sal Medical College to continue teaching students, almost two years after it derecognised the institute for want of infrastructural facilities for academic purpose.

Following the derecognition in 2007, 229 students approached the Gujarat High Court earlier this year seeking directions to authorities to shift them to other colleges so that they could complete their MBBS course. After other colleges in the state expressed their inability to accommodate them, the students through their advocate Tejas Barot moved a proposal in the high court to allow them to complete their degree course at Kesar Sal only.
