Police constables will be able to take competitive exam for the post of PSI

Chief Minister Narendra Modi has decided to allow police constables of the state police force to appear in the special competitive exam for the post of PSI.

Giving details of the move state government spokespersons Health Minister Jay Narayan Vyas and Minister of State for Energy Saurabh Patel said that till now, only assistant police sub-inspectors and head constables, having spent three years in service, were able to take the special competitive exam for the promotion to the post of police sub-inspector (mode-2). “But now with this decision even the constables, who are on the lowest rung in the police force, would be able to take the exam and directly become PSI, provided they have spent 15 years in service”, spokespersons said.
