HC notice to govt over TET for not including Socail Studies

The Gujarat high court on Tuesday issued notice to the state government asking them to explain why social science subject is not included in the teachers’ eligibility test (TET), which is mandatory before recruitment of primary teachers and vidhya sahayaks. CBSE students can apply for Vidhya Sahayak post

Gujarat high court on Friday directed the state government to consider applications from students who have cleared their Class XII from schools in Gujarat but their schools are affiliated to boards of other states. With this directive, now they can apply for the 10,000 posts of Vidhya Sahayaks to be filled by the sate education department. More »

Gujarat Civil judges exam cancelled!

The preliminary/elimintion test conducted on November 1 for recruitment to the cadre of civil judges has been cancelled, according to press releaseĀ from High Court of Gujarat. It is decided that negative marking in the forthcoming examination shall be -0.35 mark instead of -0.50 mark for each wrong answer.

The test for all eligible candidates, who were issued call letters on the last occasion, will be conducted again on January 17, 2010. Call letters and other details will be available on the Gujarat High Court website http://gujarathighcourt.nic.in from November 23, 2009.

Kesar Sal students can pursue MBBS in their college

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has agreed to allow Kesar Sal Medical College to continue teaching students, almost two years after it derecognised the institute for want of infrastructural facilities for academic purpose.

Following the derecognition in 2007, 229 students approached the Gujarat High Court earlier this year seeking directions to authorities to shift them to other colleges so that they could complete their MBBS course. After other colleges in the state expressed their inability to accommodate them, the students through their advocate Tejas Barot moved a proposal in the high court to allow them to complete their degree course at Kesar Sal only.
