Now, even candidates seeking a teacher’s jobin class I to VII will have to clear the Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET). The state education department has made this test mandatory for those teaching in primary schools from June 2011.
The education department recently issued a circular stating that all candidates applying for jobs in primary schools to teach in class I-VIII will have to appear for the TET and score minimum 60% marks in the test.

874 schools in Gujarat await permission to start academic session
Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) is yet to clear 874 applications for secondary and higher secondary private schools, whose academic sessions are scheduled to begin from June 8.
According to GSHSEB official sources, the applications are pending since September last year. “The board had received 523 applications for secondary, 201 for higher secondary (general stream) and 150 for science stream schools, which find themselves in the doldrums as they are yet to get permission to start functioning, while the academic session is in June,” said an official.
