16 new colleges qualify for Gujarat University affiliation

Only 16 of the 92 new institutes seeking affiliation with Gujarat University qualify to launch their courses as per the new rules issued by University Grant Commission (UGC). The report of the same has been submitted by scrutiny committee appointed by need committee of Gujarat University on Tuesday.

These 92 applications were for new self-financed institutes offering bachelor of business administration (BBA), bachelor of computer application (BCA) and bachelor of commerce (BCom). More »

5,800 seats available in BCom colleges in Ahmedabad

Students left without admission have only applied to top 10 colleges. As many as 3,800 seats are lying vacant in several other colleges even as GU has added 2,000 more seats.
On one hand Gujarat University has issued advertisements in the papers that it is coming up with new B Com, BBA and BCA colleges and on the other it says right now there are more than enough seats available for these courses.

Ahmedabad University affiliated BCom, BBA, BCA colleges admission

The procedure for admission to BCom, BBA and BCA colleges affiliated to Ahmedabad University is on in full swing. HLIC sold 2,300 B Com forms on Monday. The merit list will be declared at 8 am on Tuesday. Fees can be paid till noon on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sources said, the cut-off is expected to be above 80 per cent. More »

Self-finance institutes await Gujarat University nod for another fee hike

gujarat_univercity_logoThe fee hike issue taken up by self-financed institutes is yet to be resolved. Several self-financed institutes had asked the Gujarat University (GU) to permit them to increase the fee charged by them. But, the GU wanted these institutes to put forth reasons for hiking the fees. However, even after six months the institutes have failed to respond to queries put up by GU authorities. 

These are self-financed institutes offering Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) and Bachelor of Commerce (Bcom) affiliated to GU.
