MICA Go Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for admission
Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) will, once again, accept Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for admission to its flagship course this year. The institute had abandoned the CAT test from its admission process in 2010 and 2011 to use its own written test – ‘MICA test’ (MICAT).
The admission for 2012-14 batch of post-graduate programme diploma in management (communications) PGDM(C) will adopt a three step process of CAT, MICAT, and group exercise (GE) and personal interview (PI). More »

17 colleges ordered to appoint qualified teachers for PG courses by GU
After AICTE allows 17 colleges to run postgraduate courses, GTU orders them to appoint faculties with proper qualification by August 25 if they were really keen on offering the courses.
A high-level meeting of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) officials was called on Tuesday to discuss All India Council for Technical Education’s (AICTE) approval to 17 colleges to run postgraduate courses like MPharm, MTech, and ME. The committee has ordered these colleges to appoint faculties with requisite qualifications by August 25. In case these colleges fail to appoint faculties, they will not be allowed to offer PG courses in affiliation with GTU. More »

AICTE raises merit criteria for engineering & pharmacy
The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) in its approval process handbook 2011-12 released online has said that minimum qualification for admission to engineering and pharmacy colleges will be 50 per cent marks. 2895 new diploma engg seats approved by AICTE in Gujarat
All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved 2895 more seats in diploma courses in engineering. Out of these, 2265 seats are in eight colleges set up recently. As many as 480 seats have been approved in two self-financed institutes (SFI) that run second shift. With this the intake capacity of 13 SFIs have been gone up to 1320. More »

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Wednesday announced 350 more seats in engineering colleges in the state. Also, the committee did not give its nod for engineering colleges under Public Private Partnership schemes. Engineering admissions started in Gujarat!
Monday was the last date to register online for admissions to engineering and pharmacy courses.
As many as 61,500 students had registered online till late evening on Monday. A total of 62,000 admission booklets issued by Admission Committee for Professional Courses were sold. Till Sunday night, 57,600 students had registered online.
