MICA Go Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for admission

Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) will, once again, accept Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for admission to its flagship course this year. The institute had abandoned the CAT test from its admission process in 2010 and 2011 to use its own written test – ‘MICA test’ (MICAT).

The admission for 2012-14 batch of post-graduate programme diploma in management (communications) PGDM(C) will adopt a three step process of CAT, MICAT, and group exercise (GE) and personal interview (PI). More »

Infosys Founder Narayana Murthy graces first AU convocation

Addressing the students of Ahmedabad University (AU), chairman and chief mentor of Infosys N R Narayana Murthy said that the development in the country is disproportionate. Murthy urged the graduating students to shoulder the responsibility of bringing an inclusive and equitable change in the country.

Murthy was the chief guest at the first convocation of Ahmedabad University, which was held at its campus on Monday. The event conferred degrees to the university’s first batch of 110 MBA and 8 BBA students that graduated this year. More »

Ahmedabad University affiliated BCom, BBA, BCA colleges admission

The procedure for admission to BCom, BBA and BCA colleges affiliated to Ahmedabad University is on in full swing. HLIC sold 2,300 B Com forms on Monday. The merit list will be declared at 8 am on Tuesday. Fees can be paid till noon on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sources said, the cut-off is expected to be above 80 per cent. More »

B Sc admissions in Gujarat begin on May 21

With the Class 12 results set to be declared on May 20, the admission process of Gujarat University-affiliated science colleges with the Bachelors of Science course will begin from May 21. M G Science Institute, St Xavier’s College and C U Shah College will have admissions based on merit, while rest of the colleges in the city will have admissions on a first-come-first-served basis. Univarsity Number Nine in Ahmedabad City!

GLS wants university status. If proposal is accepted, the city will get its ninth varsity

Following the footsteps of the Ahmedabad Education Society that set up Ahmedabad University, the Gujarat Law Society is planning to set up its own university. The proposal will be submitted to the state government next month. If it is sanctioned, the city will get its ninth varsity.

The trust is scouting S G Highway for possible sites to set up the university. More »

Ahmedabad University collaborates with UK b-school

cambridge_universityThe recently-instituted Ahmedabad University has entered into collaboration with Judge Business School, Cambridge University (UK) to develop an in-house executive MBA program targeted at owner-managed industries.

Cambridge University is ranked the second-best university in the world. The programme, to be jointly designed by faculty of both universities, will also feature a short stint for students at Cambridge, with some faculty of the Ahmedabad University also slated to be trained there. The agreement will facilitate long-term access to course material and faculty training.

Ahmedabad University open for admissions

The trust that gave Gujarat University shelter during initial days has decided to launch a university. Ahmedabad University (AU) of Ahmedabad Education Society (AES) is all set to offer admissions to students for the academic year 2009-10.

In the first year, the university will have two schools School of Management and Commerce and School of ICT with 3,135 students.
