MICA Go Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for admission

Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) will, once again, accept Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for admission to its flagship course this year. The institute had abandoned the CAT test from its admission process in 2010 and 2011 to use its own written test – ‘MICA test’ (MICAT).

The admission for 2012-14 batch of post-graduate programme diploma in management (communications) PGDM(C) will adopt a three step process of CAT, MICAT, and group exercise (GE) and personal interview (PI). More »

GTU (Gujarat Technological University) degree to diploma forms released

As per the announcement made by the Gujarat Technical University (GTU) the Forms for diploma to degree courses are now available. The forms are to be accepted till July 7.

There are more than 8,999 seats in diploma to degree courses in Gujarat. From this year, the students of BSc in Maths are also now eligible to apply for degree engineering cources. While in last year there were 10% seats reserved for this, this year 20% seats are reserved which is double.

 

15-40% hike in fee for professional courses in Degree/Diploma/BE/B.Pharm/MCA/MBA

Dreaming of a career in engineering, MBA or MCA? Get ready to pay more. The fee regulatory committee for professional colleges on Tuesday declared the new fee structure for 429 professional colleges. The hike of fees is in range of 15-40%.

The committee has also declared the fee structure for the next three academic years. This will be applicable in self-financed colleges providing degree and diploma courses in engineering and pharmacy; master’s degrees in business administration, computer applications, engineering, pharmacy; and bachelor’s degrees in architecture and hotel and tourism management.  More »

M S University (MSU) has finally woken up to the demand of the day. Starting from Wednesday, all information related to admission in major faculties of the university will be made available at a centralized window at the university head office.

AICTE raises merit criteria for engineering & pharmacy

The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) in its approval process handbook 2011-12 released online has said that minimum qualification for admission to engineering and pharmacy colleges will be 50 per cent marks. 350 more seats in engg colleges in gujarat

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Wednesday announced 350 more seats in  engineering colleges in the state. Also, the committee did not give its nod for engineering colleges under Public Private Partnership schemes. About 10 days ago, the AICTE had given permission for nine new engineering colleges which would offer 6,399 seats to students. More »

GCET going well on day 1!

Gujarat Common Entrance Tests (GCET) began on Monday. Around 23,000 students have registered for the tests that pave the way for admission to MBA or MCA courses in colleges across the state.

The students who appeared for the exam on day one found the exam easy but time consuming. Mathematics was tough for most.

Unlike last year, where there were reports of power failure in several centres, on Monday only one such case was reported from a Surat centre. However, the power was restored shortly. More »

5,800 seats available in BCom colleges in Ahmedabad

Students left without admission have only applied to top 10 colleges. As many as 3,800 seats are lying vacant in several other colleges even as GU has added 2,000 more seats.
On one hand Gujarat University has issued advertisements in the papers that it is coming up with new B Com, BBA and BCA colleges and on the other it says right now there are more than enough seats available for these courses.

BBA, BCA admissions enter final phase in Gujarat!

The final phase of admission process for BBA and BCA courses will begin this week. The Gujarat University (GU) will start the ‘counselling’ procedure, wherein students will be asked to decide which college they want to join, on Friday.

According to GU officials, 5,232 class XII pass-outs have applied for admission to BBA, while 5,184 want to study BCA. There are 1,200 seats in BBA colleges and 1,500 in BCA. This year, NRI and management quotas have been scrapped.

The counselling exercise, which will take place at GU’s IAS Centre, will be wrapped up in eight days.

Engineering admissions started in Gujarat!

Monday was the last date to register online for admissions to engineering and pharmacy courses.

As many as 61,500 students had registered online till late evening on Monday. A total of 62,000 admission booklets issued by Admission Committee for Professional Courses were sold. Till Sunday night, 57,600 students had registered online.

B Sc admissions in Gujarat begin on May 21

With the Class 12 results set to be declared on May 20, the admission process of Gujarat University-affiliated science colleges with the Bachelors of Science course will begin from May 21. M G Science Institute, St Xavier’s College and C U Shah College will have admissions based on merit, while rest of the colleges in the city will have admissions on a first-come-first-served basis.
