Medical, para-medical admission forms sold out on day 1
Nearly 6,300 forms of medical and para-medical courses distributed by Gujarat University to students who cleared their HSC (science) were sold on the first day itself on Monday.
The students will have to fill the forms and submit those in person to BJ Medical College authorities on June 3.
Medical and para-medical courses are the only courses where the admission is not being done online. Otherwise, students can apply online for admission to engineering and pharmacy courses.
The tedious process of filling of application forms has been simplified and students can submit forms faster after the online admission process was introduced. The online registration has seen 37,228 applications forms submitted for the engineering courses.
While, nearly 7,700 students have submitted their applications online for the pharmacy courses. “Over 62 helpline centres have been set up all over the state to enable the students to fill their application forms online. With this facility, its not mandatory for students to come to Ahmedabad for filling forms,” said an official.
Officials involved in the admission process informed that registration of 7,411 students has already been completed. Meanwhile, 25 computers have been installed at LD Engineering College to facilitate the admission process.
However, students still have to wait for up to three hours to fill their forms online. “Despite all the online facilities, one still had wait for over three hours in the queue. But, it is possible that this was because of the heavy rush in engineering seats,” said Ishant Trivedi, a student.
