Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) alumni body goes global
Celebrating 30 years of Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), the alumni association of the institute is going global.
The association has planned 25 alumni meetings across the globe to commemorate three decades of IRMA. More than 50 alumni of IRMA Ahmedabad chapter participated in one such meet in the city on Sunday.
IRMA alumnus Girdhar Bagri said, “Similar meetings have already kicked off in Pune and Jaipur. In the coming weeks, we will be hosting 10 more meetings across the country.”
The IRMA alumnus are spread in the US, Australia and other south east Asian countries.
IRMA alumnus and secretary of the association, Vaibhav Bhamoriya, said, “The meetings will build up the association base globally. This will help kickstart discussions to develop a future strategy placing IRMA at the centre which envisages greater inclusion and participation of the common man in the growth and development of the country.”
“The IRMA alumni association is turning into a global entity with the recently established overseas zone and appointment of an overseas zonal representatives. It is also decentralizing to increase the participation of the alumni and respond to more local needs of alumni,” Bhamoriya added.
Chairman of IRMA YK Alagh also participated in the meeting at Ahmedabad on Sunday. It was also attended by former faculty, current faculty, director, chairman and students of the institute.
Bagri said, “We are trying to create a powerhouse of innovation and creative inputs for the institute to bring about sustainable modernisation of the country.”
