Gujarat Govt schools to go online!

October 25th, 2009 Posted in Development

gujarat_mapThe state education department has issued a circular to all grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools across the state

asking them to develop their school’s website.

Taking a cue from Gujrat Technological University (GTU), the government wants the schools to go online in order to do away with paper work.

In order to streamline the process, district education officer K K Rathod has sought several details from the schools to be uploaded online. These include infrastructure facilities of the school, its size of building and playground, number of students and staff, teachers’ qualification, academic performance and alumni.

DEO office has convened a meeting of principals of all schools on October 29 to chalk out further strategy. “A format form, seeking ideas for website development, is to be issued to the principals in the meeting. On the basis of these forms to be filled up by the principals, the DEO office will prepare a CD, finalizing a uniform format for the website development,” said an official from the DEO office.

The circular is likely to be welcomed by the schools, as most of them have already had their websites with good response from students and parents.
