Gujarat government hires 50,000 youths this year

Gujarat government has hired 50,000 employees in 2011. With this, the number of government employees has risen to 5,16,936 from 4,83,118 in 2010. Another 20,000 youths are expected to be hired by 2012.

Maximum jobs were created in the home department. The second highest is water supply department. As many as 12,069 youths were recruited in the police department. However, there was no vacancy in education department. The sachivalaya and legislative department hired no one.

The government has focused on five departments: Petroleum, climate change, urban, woman and child, as well as science and technology. There are only 16 people working in climate change department and 40  in science and technology department.
