GCET exam centres on first come first served basis

Tuesday is the last day to register for the test for admission to MBA, MCA courses

Centres for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test will be allotted on first come first served basis to whoever has applied for it. Around 23,000 students had registered for the test by Monday to join the MBA or MCA courses.

The online registration closes on June 8 and tests will be held from June 28 to July 1 and the next from July 5 to 8. All students have the option of appearing twice and the best of two will be considered for merit. Earlier, they were given choice of three options for examination centres.

There are in all 24 centres in 12 cities to choose from. Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kadi, Rajkot, Changa, Vadodara, Visnagar, Bhandu, Himmatnagar, Vallabh Vidyanagar and Bhavnagar are the centres.

In Ahmedabad, Nirma, L J Commerce College, Chandkheda Engineering College, Som Lalit and Indus Engineering College are assigned as examination centres.

At one centre in one session around 450 students can sit for examinations at a time. There will be three such sessions at each centre.

The merit rank of the candidates will be displayed on the website of Gujarat Technological University on July 10. The first round of counselling and seat allotment will take place on July 20
