Taking into account the confusion created among students by the huge increase in engineering and pharmacy seats following the two mock rounds, the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (technical) (ACPC) on Thursday decided to reschedule their actual admission round.

ACPC will first conduct the third mock round on July 10, which will clarify the students’ doubts regarding their choice of engineering/pharmacy branch and the college they had opted for.

The final list and seat matrix placed by the ACPC on July 5, will now be revised and placed on the website on July 15. From July 15 to 19, filling and alteration of choices for actual admission round-I will take place. On the 20th, display of filled and locked choices and reporting to ACPC in case of any discrepancy will be done.

ACPC Secretary M N Patel said, “ACPC officials will be meeting officials of the All India Council for Technical Education in Delhi on July 13, to apprise them of the confusion created by the increase in the number of seats. This will delay the admission process by at least a week.”

Ahmedabad Mirror had reported on Thursday that students were not sure whether they would get the branch and college of their choice despite two mock rounds since around 8,000 seats in engineering and pharmacy courses were added after the rounds. This will drastically alter their standing.
