CEPT University placements:GIFT shortlists six students on First day

Day one of CEPT University placements began on a promising note with Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT) shortlisting six students from various faculties. A Rs 70,000-crore state-of-the-art project, GIFT that has put its work on a fast track has selected students from Urban Transport, Infrastructure Planning, Landscape and Urban Designing. Other recruiters have kept two candidates in waiting list.

The placement that began on Wednesday will continue till February 10. Confirming the news, a highly-placed source in CEPT said, “GIFT has shortlisted our six students. The company is yet to decide if they want more candidates.” As many as 30 firms, including MNCs such as CRISIL, ATTKINS GLobal, Egies, Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL), ICRA-IMaCs, Liases, Unity Infrastructure, Water Sanitation Performance Assessment (PAS), have been participating in the placement process.

“JLL and ACP Design have planned to visit the campus on February 3. Swedish firm Liases will come calling on February 4,” said the source.

On-line recruitment
The university has set up an on-line recruitment system for the companies that have shown interest in the placement. The university has specially developed the system following the demand of firms that wanted to conduct recruitment interviews on-line to save time and other resources.

Taking the advantage of the newly introduced system, ATTKINS GLobal has decided to conduct an online test for candidates on February 5. After the test, the company officials will visit the campus for further rounds of test.

Special session
CEPT has conducted a special session for its students and advised them to not take decision in a hurry. This is aimed at reducing attrition ratio. Students have been given time to decide if they want to join the firm. The appointment letters will be given only once students make their mind to join.

HTAT For Head Teacher(Principal) for Primary Schools in Gujarat

HTAT Exam

For promotion to the post of Head Teacher in primary school a teacher must clear Head Teacher Aptitude Test (HTAT) to be eligible for the post of Head Teacher according to a GR issued by the Education Department.

Gujarat Secondary and High Secondary Education Board will conduct the HTAT. It will have multiple choice questions like TAT. The question paper will have Optical Mark Recognition. It will not have negative marking system.

A teacher will have to clear two papers each of 75 marks. To qualify in HTAT a teacher will have to score 60 per cent marks. The first part will have general knowledge questions while the second question paper will cover syllabus of primary courses.

The test is likely to be conducted in February. It is to fill up around 5,000 posts in government primary schools. Teachers need five years experience to apply for the post of principal which is now termed as Head Teacher.

3.5L apply for 9000 Police jobs as 2nd round of police hiring begins

After the mega recruitment of 680 police sub-inspectors and more than 8,000 constables in 2010, the second batch of more than 9,000 police personnel will be trained by the Gujarat State Police Recruitment Board by next year. The drive to recruit these personnel started on Wednesday with physical tests being conducted at 12 centers across the state.

This is second large scale recruitment drive after the last one in 2010, which itself was held after a gap over 7 years. While last time, 5 lakh applications were received for nearly 10,000 posts, this year around 3.5 lakh candidates have applied for 9,000 posts. The number of woman candidates has also gone up as more than 40,000 applications have been received by the police officials for various posts.

The drive is targeted at filling up already vacant posts in the state police and also prepare personnel to replace retiring officials of all ranks. State police officials said that from 2010 onwards, the acute shortage of staff in khaki force has been taken seriously and with constitution of recruitment board, the induction will hopefully be a regular affair.

Talking about the current recruitment drive, chairman of the recruitment board for police sub-inspectors Ashish Bhatiya said that the last drive has taught them a lot. “This time, the process is quite stream-lined. Earlier, we had different physical tests for various ranks. Now, all the candidates will have to go through the same test. We have 800 meters running on the first day. Those who successfully complete the test in stipulated time will go for 5 kilometers running on the second day,” he said.

Panchayat department has not put result on website yet.

After GPSC now its Panchayat board has issue in result. How can merit of reserved category can go higher then open category. There was advertisement in news paper that result will be available on website of panchayat department on 23th august. but yet they have not added result on website.

It seems there are some issues with result as reservation has not been calculated properly and some people say result is wrong as merit of reserved category is higher then open category which is not possible as per rules.

Below Cut-off marks for Clerck result

Open : 70.10
SEBC: 70.10
SC: 72.40
ST: 62

How can cut-off mark can go up or same for open and reservation category. There was some issue with GPSC result and now its panchayat board. Student or people should raise theire voice.

You can get list of student using RTI and marks and your answer sheet also.
