Age limit for vidya sahayak is 38 now in Gujarat.

The Gujarat government has decided to relax the age limit for hiring vidya sahayaks (teaching assistants) in higher primary schools by five years, even as it announced that 13,000 more vidya sahayaks will be appointed in the current year.

Giving details about the decision, state government spokespersons Jaynarayan Vyas and Saurabh Patel said the relaxation will apply across all categories of vidya sahayaks.

“The upper age limit for recruitment as vidya sahayak has been increased from 28 years to 33 years in case of general class candidates, while it has been revised from 33 years to 38 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST and other backward classes,” they said.

The spokespersons added that the decision has been taken to ensure that experienced and efficient persons, who graduated earlier but could not get appointed as vidya sahayaks having crossed the age limit, will now be eligible for the same.

State education minister Ramanlal Vora said 10,000 vidya sahayaks were appointed for standard VI to VIII for English, Mathematics and Science subjects in 2010. “Many candidates who missed out on the opportunity to be appointed as vidya sahayaks due to age factor will now become eligible for the appointment,” Vora said.

The state government has so far appointed 1.21 lakh vidya sahayaks, of whom 85,000 have been made permanent. Vora said more vidya sahayakswill be made permanent depending on the vacancies in respective districts.

Google has launched a Facebook looking like service Google +

Google launched its own social network, in the hard competition with the Facebook Giant. Google+project is a service that is looking out very much with the Facebook social network principle. But, unlike Facebook, it permits sharing photos, impressions and status on the own group.

This is the battle that Google chose to take in the hard competition to one of the highest internet boom of all times, Facebook. The Google+project is now available in a trial version, but soon it will be worldwide available.

The company announced on Tuesday, in an official statement, that Google+project has something different that will surely convince the costumers to head their attention on another social media network.

It also lets people share things with smaller groups of people through “circles”. This means only workmates, school pals and families — but not all at once — would be able to see updates and photos. Google also says it will integrate it hi-tech mapping tools into the services.

Google+ is the latest attempt by the search giant to dislodge Facebook from the top of the social networking industry after failing of Google wave.

Bachchan to promote more tourist destinations in Gujarat – Khushboo Gujarat Ki -3

The advertisements showing country’s best-known superstar reclining on a beach chair on Mandvi beach, telling you to ‘breathe’ in a bit of Gujarat has worked wonders.

Now, Amitabh Bachchan is set to begin his third round of shooting for the ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’ film series in August this year.

During this visit, Bachchan will shoot at Champaner, Pavagadh, Ambaji and Saputara. Bachchan had earlier visited the state twice for shooting of the films promoting Gujarat. While in the first trip, he shot in Somnath, Girnar, and Bhuj in the second, he shot at Ahmedabad, Porbandar and Dwarka.

State tourism department had last year released the first set of 60-second film titled ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’. From scenes of a camp fire in the stark and pristine Gir forest to praising the ‘fragrance of faith’ at Somnath Temple, Bachchan took the audience through a tour of Kutch, Gir and Somnath in the films.

“The films to be shot during this visit of the actor will portray Saputara as a hill station which is at par with others like Mt Abu. Champaner, a world heritage site and Pavagadh and Ambaji will be promoted as major tourist destinations,” said a state tourism department official. The state government had earlier made it clear that superstar Amitabh Bachchan is not being paid any remuneration for acting as Gujarat’s brand ambassador.

Officials also said that the Big B has proposed to lend his voice for the light and sound show for Dwarka, Ambaji and Somnath.

Campus Placement 2010-11 @ DA-IICT Gandhinagar, Max 8.5 Lac Package Offered

Deloitte made 19 offers.
Two companies incubated at National Design Business Incubator of NID, Mediashala and Mayavi, visited the campus for the first time and recruited nine candidates. They offered a CTC of 4.2 lakh per annum.
The students were offered jobs as research engineer, software developer, business technology associate, analyst, application developer, system developer, and embedded system designer etc.
Other companies which also visited the campus were Deloitte, Saba Software, Airvana Networks, Fiserv, Anindus Consultancy Pvt. Patni computer to recruit 350 by 2011 end in Gandhinagar

IT and BPO service provider Patni Computer Systems plans to recruit 350 employees by the end of 2011, the company said today.

The new recruits would be based in the second delivery centre in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat which was inaugurated recently, Patni Computer Systems said in a statement here.

“We are looking at strengthening our presence in this burgeoning IT delivery hub and expect Gandhi Nagar to play a crucial part in this delivery expansion strategy…,” Patni Chief Executive Officer Jeya Kumar said.

The company currently has a headcount of 400 at the existing center and had planned to add 350 employees at the new center taking the total employees to 750 in the next one year, it added.

Patni currently has over 16,000 employees at global delivery centers across 16 cities. It has 30 offices across the Americas, Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific region the statement added.

Patni Computer opens new centre in Gandhinagar

Global IT and BPO services provider Patni Computer Systems has opened its second delivery centre in Gandhinagar.

According to the company, the move is triggered by a recent deal signed by Patni Computer to provide Product Engineering Services (PES) and Application Development Management (ADM) services to a leading UK-based enterprise.

Currently, the headcount at the company’s existing centre in Gujarat stands at 400. The company plans to hire an additional 350 at the new centre, taking the total to over 750 employees in the next one year.
