Eligibility test must for primary teachers in Gujarat

Now, even candidates seeking a teacher’s jobin class I to VII will have to clear the Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET). The state education department has made this test mandatory for those teaching in primary schools from June 2011.

The education department recently issued a circular stating that all candidates applying for jobs in primary schools to teach in class I-VIII will have to appear for the TET and score minimum 60% marks in the test.

Gujarat BSNL to set up 50 towers in Vadodara for Wi-Max service

Gujarat Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has initiated work to set up 50 towers to launch Wi-Max service in the city, General Manager of the company Ramakant Sharma said here today. He did not give any time-frame as to when the Wi-Max service would start but informed the company has started a survey to put up 50 towers. Talking to PTI after releasing Vadodara telecom directory with Indiacom Yellow Pages-2010 at a function, Sharma said that BSNL Vadodara has launched GSM based 3G services which has been highly popular. GESIA set to expand operations in Gujarat

Having already attracted over 250 IT companies from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, the Gujarat Electronics & Software Industries Association (GESIA) now intends to expand its operations in the state.

According to Jaimin Shah, the newly elected president of GESIA and founder director, Dev Information Technology Pvt. Ltd., the association intends to begin operations in other cities like Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot. More »

BSNL launches 3G services in Vadodara

TCS to hire 30,000 personnel next fiscal

With the IT industry firmly on the growth track, Tata Consultancy Services plans to hire 30,000 personnel in the next fiscal. The company would be announcing the increments around April but the quantum was not divulged.

Google India targets Gujarat SMBs for online advertising campaign!

Google India is eying small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Gujarat for its online advertisement programme AdWords by the end of this year, the company’s online sales head, Sridhar Seshadri, said.

AHMEDABAD: The Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Oklahoma (OU),United States of America, on January 12. China systematically killing Indian manufacturing: L&T

Private sector engineering major Larsen & Toubro has said that China is systematically killing Indian manufacturing sector and sought 25 per cent anti-dumping duty on Chinese goods. 

“China has a fixed currency. It is not a market economy like ours. China is systematically killing the Indian manufacturing sector,” L&T chief Naik, who was here for foundation stone laying ceremony of a forgings unit at Hazira told reporters here yesterday.
