The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Wednesday announced 350 more seats in  engineering colleges in the state. Also, the committee did not give its nod for engineering colleges under Public Private Partnership schemes. About 10 days ago, the AICTE had given permission for nine new engineering colleges which would offer 6,399 seats to students. Three pharmacy colleges had also got the committee’s nod for 1,380 seats. Meanwhile, the aspiring candidates of engineering and pharmacy courses appeared for mock rounds which gave them a fair perspective of their admission opportunities. The students will now get more choices in terms of branch and colleges.

The final list of the institutes and the seat matric will be declared on July 15 and the first allotment list will be declared on July 22, 2010.
