Adani wins bid to develop Orissa coal block

Gujarat BSNL to set up 50 towers in Vadodara for Wi-Max service

Gujarat Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has initiated work to set up 50 towers to launch Wi-Max service in the city, General Manager of the company Ramakant Sharma said here today. He did not give any time-frame as to when the Wi-Max service would start but informed the company has started a survey to put up 50 towers. Talking to PTI after releasing Vadodara telecom directory with Indiacom Yellow Pages-2010 at a function, Sharma said that BSNL Vadodara has launched GSM based 3G services which has been highly popular. Infosys on hiring spree as attrition climbs up

Infosys Technologies has stepped up hiring on robust growth in the second quarter (July-Sept) of this fiscal (2010-11) to make up for the rising attrition to meet the increasing demand of the resilient industry.

Though the IT bellwether added 14,264 new employees during the quarter under review (Q2), the exit of 6,618 of its techies resulted in net addition of 7,746, taking the total workforce to 122,468 till September 30. More »

Gujarat University (GU) in association with Indian Institute of Yogic Science & Research Foundation is introducing five new programmes as part of its concept Nirvana.  These are: Two certificate courses for yoga instructors, a certificate course in yoga for character building, diploma in yoga, health and character and diploma in Ayuryogam.

GCET examination to be conducted in Feb 2011

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has decided to conduct the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) for MBA and MCA aspirants in February 2011.

The decision is aimed at helping MBA and MCA colleges finish their admission process earlier. The move to advance GCET will further cut the waiting period for students, said GTU sources. More »
